1. What we track
If you allow analytics, we use Umami analytics to count visits and understand which pages are used. Analytics is limited to broad usage events like page views, whether readback starts, and technical context needed for aggregate reports. The readback event records whether playback is text only or text with audio, plus the display mode, speed, and word count, but never the pasted text. We also count when audio or playback is toggled. Page views include the page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, language, screen size, device type and approximate location (country, region or city). Umami sets no analytics cookies. It processes your IP address to estimate location and generate a pseudonymous visitor identifier, but does not store the raw IP address in its analytics records. The identifier lets Umami link visits and events on this site and changes with the server salt. These records are pseudonymous, rather than completely anonymous. If you allow analytics, performance metrics measure page loading and interaction delays. If you allow heatmaps, Umami collects click positions, scroll depth, page URLs and page and viewport sizes. These are combined into click and scroll heatmaps to help us improve the controls and layout. We do not record or replay sessions, capture typed text, or send files or media through heatmaps. Heatmaps are off until you agree, and you can turn them off below. Eligible sessions are sampled at 15%.
2. What we do not track
We do not use analytics to identify you personally. We do not collect, send, or read the text you paste into the reader. Text-only playback stays in your browser. If you use audio, your browser or operating system handles speech and its selected voice may use an online service. Check your device's speech settings before using audio with sensitive text.
3. Cookies and profiling
Umami uses no cookies. We store your privacy choices in this browser. The Umami script also keeps a temporary measurement token in memory while the page is open. Analytics and optional heatmaps require consent. We do not use it for ad profiling.
4. Legal basis (UK)
Analytics and heatmaps are optional. Neither starts until you give consent in this browser. We rely on consent under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) for these measurements and the related device access under PECR. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not affect the tools. You can withdraw consent below; this stops new collection but does not automatically delete existing records.
5. Data sharing and retention
David Taylor, trading as TaylorMadeCode, is responsible for this site and its analytics. Umami is self-hosted at metrics.taylormadecode.com. Access is restricted to the site operator and authorised technical administrators. We do not sell analytics data or share it for advertising. Cloudflare delivers and protects this website and may process connection data, including IP addresses, under its own privacy policy. This site also loads the Inter font from rsms.me, which receives connection data such as your IP address when the font is requested. Hosting and font delivery are separate from optional analytics and keep working when you turn analytics off. We keep analytics records while they are needed to compare traffic, tool completion and layout performance over time. We delete records that are no longer needed for these purposes. Privacy preferences remain in your browser until you change them or clear site storage.

Your rights
Contact taylormadecodeltd@gmail.com about privacy, access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data where these rights apply. Because we do not collect your name or email in analytics, we may be unable to identify your records without further information. You can withdraw consent at any time and complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.
7. Policy changes
We may update this page when our analytics setup changes. Updates will be published here.
